Planning notes

Use these before calling the pizza shop.

  • Order 10 large pizzas for 26 guests.
  • This covers 75 planned slices with 5 extra slices as cushion.
  • Ask the shop to cut party slices if you are serving younger kids or a snack table.

Slice assumptions

This setup uses about 3.0 slices per adult and 1.8 slices per kid before the extra buffer. Adjust appetite or buffer if your group includes teens, athletes, or a long party window.

Frequently asked questions

How many pizzas do I need for a party?

For pizza as the main meal, plan about 3 slices per adult and 1.5 to 2 slices per child, then add a small buffer. Divide the total slices by the slices per pizza and round up.

How many slices are in a large pizza?

Most large pizzas are cut into 8 slices, but some shops cut large pies into 10 or 12 party slices. Check the shop's slice count before ordering for a large group.

How much extra pizza should I order?

A 10 percent buffer is enough for most parties. Use 15 to 20 percent for teens, sports teams, long events, or parties where pizza is the only food.

How many vegetarian pizzas should I order?

Use your expected vegetarian guest share, then round up to whole pizzas. Keep at least one cheese pizza as a flexible backup because it works for many kids and picky eaters.

Is pizza enough food for a party?

Pizza can be enough for casual parties, but add salad, fruit, snacks, or dessert for longer events. If the party lasts more than 3 hours, plan extra drinks and sides.
